COVID UPDATE 7.1.20 Following this afternoons press conference by Governor Newsom all “indoor” restaurants have to close with immediate effect for the next 3 weeks. I won’t bore you how this impacts on any small business but trust us this is just another massive kick in the ……shins! Right now we will NOT be opening for TO GO food as being honest it simply isn’t a viable proposition. Leading up to the reopening date estimated now 7.22.20 we will do TO GO food to get the kitchen back up and running prior to opening the bar. COVID UPDATE 7.1.20 July is here and it’s not the way we wanted to start with our doors being closed. With that being said we have now taken the decision to move our opening date one week forward until Sunday **July 12th. In light of the surge in cases in Riverside County we expect further changes/recommendations to the way restaurants operate and we want to be fully compliant. The safety and protection of all our staff & customers is the #1 priority. Mask wearing, social distancing and washing hands on a regular basis is an absolute necessity & we all owe it to each other to keep everyone safe. Sunday **July 12th is a flexible date and if we can move that date forward and it is safe to do so we will. COVID UPDATE 6/22/20 AT 6:30pm

The Shamrock has been in constant contact with Riverside Public Health Department since we discovered a staff member returned a positive test result for Covid-19 on the morning of Sat June 20th.  We took the decision to close The Shamrock business immediately . The next step was to inform staff to self-quarantine and recommended them to take a Covid-19 test as soon as possible.  On Sunday  21st we were also informed by another member of the staff that had shown symptoms and self-isolated that they had also tested positive. The Shamrock will not re-open unless all staff working have returned with negative results. We have a provisional re-opening day of Sunday July 5th but this date remains fluid depending on when all our team are passed fit and healthy to work.

At this time, we legally cannot share our staff member’s information or work times due to privacy laws. We really wish we could share this information with you but regrettably that is not possible. We would like to ease your mind and not create any panic and here is some information shared to us by Riverside Health Department.


You generally need to be in close contact with a sick person to get infected. Close contact includes any of the following:

  • Living in the same household as a sick person with COVID-19
  • Caring for a sick person with COVID-19.
  • Being within 6 feet of a sick person with COVID-19 for around 15 minutes or more.
  • Being in direct contact with secretions from a sick person with COVID-19 (e.g., being coughed on, kissing, sharing utensils, etc.)

Obviously we are not Covid-19 experts, so we cannot say whether a person has been exposed or not but with the information we have from the authorities, customers are most likely at low risk. However with two staff testing positive we have to be mindful that other staff may have been exposed or infected by the virus.

Covid-19 has seen many things change in our business and we have tried to adapt and follow all the guidelines laid down at State and County level plus the CDC recommendations. As we have stated we will not be reopening our doors until all staff working have a negative result. There will also be another deep cleaning and sanitization of the restaurant plus a review of all our current procedures.  The Shamrock could be seen as  being  over cautious but we are here for the long term. There is no doubt every business is going to be affected by the virus and we will continue to prioritize our staff and customers along this journey.

We will continue to share information whenever it becomes available. We would just like to say a heartfelt thank you for all your support and compassion and we remain unbroken in our resolve to overcome adversity.

On Saturday 6.19.20 we were informed that one of the Shamrock staff has tested positive for Covid-19. Whilst we could remain open we feel that in the best interests of all our staff and customers that we have no choice but to temporarily close down the business. This morning we have been in contact  with Riverside County health department and we are working closely with them to ensure everyone’s safety and that we follow all the correct protocol.

Our small team of staff are the backbone of The Shamrock and we want to make sure that they are all tested and fit and healthy before we open our doors again. After the forced closure during lock-down this is the last thing we wanted to do but we feel that we must act responsibly as a business to all our staff and customers.

The Shamrock has closed with immediate effect and we will update you in conjunction with the authorities as soon as we can. Thank you for all your support now and in the future.
